The Ohio shaped monument is at the entrance to the memorial.

The monument was designed by the Ohio Fallen Heroes committee, made by Delphos Granite Works, and purchased for the park by the caring & patriotic residents of Sunbury, Ohio in 2005.

Local architect George Parker donated his time, expertise and staff to design the memorial.
